Short Biography
A Life Devoted to Creativity, Culture, and Grace
Born on 1 August 1975 in the historic town of Margherita, she was the beloved daughter of Late Krishna Kumar Chakraborty. From an early age, she was known for her simplicity, kindness, and cheerful nature. Her gentle personality and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. As a child, she developed a deep love for cultural and artistic expression. Singing, poetry writing, storytelling, and drawing were not merely hobbies to her—they were reflections of her sensitive and creative soul. Her passion for Assamese culture and literature continued to grow throughout her life.
After completing her graduation, she married Shri Santonu Borthakur on 3 March 2001. He is the eldest son of Late Birendra Nath Borthakur of Rangpuria, Tinsukia. Together they built a life grounded in love, family values, and mutual respect. Despite the many responsibilities of family life, she never allowed her creative spirit to fade. She continued writing songs, poems, and short stories, and also composed melodies for her own musical creations. Her dedication to music became even more profound when she began formal musical training in 2009.
During her lifetime, she composed seventeen songs, each carrying her emotions, imagination, and love for music. Among her most cherished works are the audio CDs “Kuwoli Fali” and “Snigdha Junak,” which remain treasured contributions to Assamese cultural music. She actively participated in various cultural and creative programs and was admired for presenting graceful Assamese cultural performances. Her commitment to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage reflected her deep connection to her roots and community.
On 26 July 2017, she left this world unexpectedly, leaving behind countless memories and an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her loved ones. Though her journey was brief, her life was rich with creativity, compassion, and dedication. She will always be remembered as a loving individual, a gifted cultural personality, and a woman whose artistic spirit continues to live on through her songs, writings, and the memories she created.

She completed her high school education at Margherita Public Higher Secondary School. Her school years played an important role in shaping her personality and nurturing her early interest in cultural and creative activities. During this time, her love for music, poetry, storytelling, and artistic expression began to flourish, laying the foundation for the creative journey she would continue throughout her life.
Higher Secondary School
She pursued her Higher Secondary education at Margherita Public Higher Secondary School. During these formative years, she continued to develop her passion for literature, music, and cultural activities. Her active participation in creative pursuits reflected her artistic spirit and dedication to Assamese culture from an early age.
Graduation
She completed her graduation from Margherita College. Her college years further enriched her creative and cultural interests, allowing her to actively engage in literary and artistic activities. It was during this period that her passion for music, poetry, and storytelling became even more deeply rooted, shaping the creative path she would carry throughout her life.

Her first audio release, “Kuwali Fali,” featured songs such as “Dekhisu Aji” (Duet), “Urunga,” “Gam Kinu Aji,” “Kio Baru,” “Meghor Madob,” “Kuwali Fali,” and “Mayabi.” Each song reflected her artistic imagination and carried a unique blend of meaningful lyrics and soulful melodies. These compositions showcased her ability to express emotions with simplicity and grace. Her second release, “Snigdha Junak,” included songs like “Mur Sutalote,” “Bhal Lage,” and “Ratir Bahi.” Through these works, she continued to celebrate the beauty of Assamese music and convey the depth of her creative spirit.
